CITEL DAC1-13VGS – Type 1 Surge Protection Device with VG Technology
Iimp 12.5 kA | 230/400 V AC | VG Technology | DIN Rail Mount
The CITEL DAC1-13VGS is a Type 1, 2 and 3 surge protection device (SPD) designed to provide primary protection for low-voltage AC installations exposed to direct lightning strikes or high-energy surge conditions. With an impulse current rating (Iimp) of 12.5 kA (10/350 µs) per pole, it is ideally suited for use at the origin of the electrical installation, such as main switchboards in commercial, industrial, or infrastructure facilities.
What sets the DAC1-13VGS apart is CITEL’s patented VG technology, a hybrid design that combines metal oxide varistors (MOV) with a gas-filled spark gap (GSG). This technology eliminates follow current, reduces electromagnetic disturbance, and delivers superior protection with stable residual voltages, even in unstable or high-exposure power networks.
Key Features:
- Type 1 SPD compliant with IEC/EN 61643-11
- Iimp: 12.5 kA (10/350 µs) per pole
- Nominal voltage: 230/400 V AC
- VG Technology (MOV + GSG): no follow current, low residual voltage
- DIN rail mountable, modular design
- Integrated status indicator
- Optional remote signalling (version S)
Typical Applications:
- Main distribution boards in lightning-prone zones (LPZ 0-1)
- Utility buildings, industrial facilities, and data centres
- Infrastructure with overhead lines or exposed feeders
- Renewable energy and remote power systems
