CITEL PRC Series – Quarter-Wave Stub Coaxial Surge Protectors
RF & Antenna Line Protection | Ultra-Low Insertion Loss | High-Frequency Performance
The CITEL PRC Series is a range of quarter-wave stub surge protection devices designed to protect RF transmission lines and coaxial systems from high-energy lightning and transient events. Built for high-frequency applications where signal integrity is critical, the PRC Series offers exceptional performance with near-zero insertion loss, making it ideal for sensitive communications, broadcast, telemetry, and security systems.
Unlike traditional gas discharge tube-based surge protectors, quarter-wave technology works as a frequency-specific filter, short-circuiting surge energy to ground while allowing uninterrupted passage of the operating RF signal. The result is extremely low let-through voltage, ultra-fast response time, and high surge handling capacity (up to 100 kA peak).
Key Features:
- Quarter-wave stub design for ultra-sensitive RF applications
- Near-zero insertion loss across designated frequency bands
- Surge capacity up to 100 kA (8/20 µs)
- Wide range of frequency models (e.g. 400 MHz, 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, etc.)
- Available with N-type, SMA, TNC and other RF connectors
- Rugged, weatherproof construction for outdoor and mast-mount use
- Fully passive, no power supply or electronics required
- Compliant with IEC 61643-21 and ITU-T K.44
Typical Applications:
- RF base stations and antennas
- Wireless telemetry and remote monitoring
- Two-way radios and VHF/UHF systems
