A cable track system is an efficient method to guide and support moving cable, hoses, and hydraulic lines onsite, but when things go wrong it can often be difficult to identify the location of the problem.
Here at Leveltec, we have partnered with Koduct to manufacture a cable tracking system that features the power of Wireless Smart Sense. Sensors fitted along the cable track can communicate early warnings when areas of chain are wearing, or a high load is appearing.
The integrated system results in reduced downtime, allowing staff to respond early to potential obstructions, breakage or dragging which can lead to loss of productivity and high repair or replacement costs.
Data is collected and sent from the sensors to the dashboard system which can be monitored remotely via the web portal, or can be connected locally to automated systems such as PLC. Staff can access real time data relating to load, temperatures, and other data sensors installed on the tracks. Alerts can also be set as email or SMS alarms, and the system can automatically shut down when it receives predetermined data.
While sensors and data add to the efficiency of a Koduct cable track management system, as a stand alone system they offer excellent durability due to the special infinite track design. The shock load on the moving end of the cable carrier is reduced significantly when starting and stopping as there are a series of buffering spring to take up that force.
The life cycle of this system is far greater as there is no sag or deflection in the cable chain because it runs on the correct height track for the nominated radius, and the system is suitable for high or low speed applications due to the low coefficient of friction on the flat surfaces. This also make the system quiet and due to low chain wear a reduction in dust.
