Industrial internet of things (IIoT), Industry 4.0 and the Digital revolution is rapidly changing the way we interact in the business land scape. The digital transformation is opening new opportunities in the way we enterprise, focus on efficiency and interact with our customers or business partners.

Sensor driven data in information technology and operational technology is now affecting other business layers creating the opportunity for better organisational outcomes.

DATA IS THE NEW GOLD and the most evident results provided by sensor driven data are:

  • downtime decreasing.
  • more efficient production.
  • reduction in production costs.
  • safer work environments.
  • improvement in quality levels.
  • more efficient maintenance.

Digitalisation is a step-by-step process may not be a central investment for organisations, so retrofitting and slowly implementing change at a rate that suits your business will be the best option to reduce installation costs. This behaviour has intensified the search for technological solutions that bring existing equipment closer to this renewing concept, capable of promoting a wider view communicated in REAL TIME.

A Step in the right direction with Tekon Electronics

Tekon Electronics develops wireless solutions that promote the collection of data from industrial plant, mining, and many other applications. Re modelling of the manufacturing and production environment aims to absorb and collect all the variables to increase relevance to the production process. The secure centralization of this data and further analysis of these variables, will allow the concept of Smart Manufacturing or Smart Mining to create value in your organization.

PLUS – Wireless product family

PLUS wireless products allows you to gather data from analog and digital sensors from your application and transmit your data through a wireless network.

Reviewing the range of Tekon Plus wireless family and applying it to an industry application, you can quickly see the potential for deployment onto existing plant an equipment without the need for increased physical cable infrastructure. The wide range of input modules being single, dual, and quad mean there is a cost effect solution for every installation.

Typical sensors used in the below application on a mining crushing circuit would include Tilt Switches, hopper level transmitter, Motor, bearing and gearbox temperature RTD, vibration sensors, oil level and speed sensors.

The transmitters are easily installed with mounting options for wall mounting, Pole mounting, DIN Rail, and optional GRP or Stainless-steel enclosure.

Each transmitter can be powered from 5-24VDC fixed supply or OEM accessories such as small battery pack and Solar/rechargeable battery kit.

The power supply accessories options give great advantages for use in remote application, elimination of power supply cables and reduced the overall installation and maintenance costs.

The Tekon gateway integrates with automation equipment in thre ways. It supply current outputs that can be used for direct inout into PLC’s and Local dispalys. Data can be transfered via Modbus RS485 and can also be connected to network devices that provide access to ethernet. This link to the internet allows the use of the Tekon IoT platform to supercharge the collection of the data and allow the operation of configured remote outputs.

Tekon Plus IoT Platform – Online data logger

Data visualization and advanced analysis is the main function of Tekon IoT Platform. A cloud-based solution, which can be used in the cloud or locally, where the real-time visualization and analysis of data, offers the necessary tools to process the information regarding their application. IoT platform allows to assimilate data and helps decision making of preventive or corrective measures on the equipment.
